white as snow

white

fluffy

cold
falling slowly
quickly piling

our first snowfall of the year

covers everything with 

a coat of white

defining lines

and angles

not

seen or noticed

on the average day

sparkling in the sun

melting in my hand

staying only

a moment

and then disappearing

each flake different

from the one by it

a blanket lain

on the earth

to protect from

cold sub-zero

temperatures

reminding me of God's forgiveness
how He wipes the slate clean
gives me a brand-new start
white as snow

Thank You, Lord,

for making me white as snow...

You see me, not for what I have done.

Instead, I am no longer stained with sin

but made white as snow...shimmering, sparkling

in the presence

of the Son.
