A dear friend of mine shared a wonderful resource with me. Drawing to Learn the Book of Proverbs by Ray and Charlene Notgrass is a book to use with my boys to take them through the book of Proverbs a few verses at a time. We read a few verses and then they illustrate what those verses mean. I am thrilled to be walking through this wealth of wisdom with them!
Here are just a few of those AMAZING-and challenging words that help to guide my heart today...
He who covers over an offense
promotes love,
but whoever repeats the matter
separates close friends.
Proverbs 17:9
A rebuke impresses a
man of discernment
more than a hundred
lashes a fool.
Proverbs 17:10
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22
A fool finds no pleasure in understanding
but delights in airing his own opinions.
Proverbs 18:2
The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10
A man's wisdom gives him patience;
it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
Proverbs 19:11
Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:21
The fear of the LORD leads to life;
then one rests content, untouched by trouble.
Proverbs 19:22
Even a child is known by his actions,
by whether his conduct is pure and right.
Proverbs 20:11
Do not say,
"I will pay you back for this wrong!"
Wait for the LORD,
and He will deliver you.
Proverbs 20:22
All a man's ways seem right to him,
but the LORD weighs the heart.
Proverbs 21:2

Lord,
Thank You for wisdom we can gain only from You!
Thank you for these proverbs.
Give me wisdom as I raise my blessings to follow after You.
Mold them into men who love You
with their whole hearts.
