Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
If I go up to the heavens,
You are there;
if I make my bed in the depths,
You are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there Your hand will guide me,
Your right hand will hold me fast.
(Even when I go to school!)
~Psalm 139:7-10

For You created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise You
because I am
fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together
in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written
in Your book
before one of them came to be.
~Psalm 139:13-16

I lift my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
We are strong!
He will not let your foot slip--
He Who watches you will not slumber;
indeed, He Who watches over Israel
will neither slumber or sleep.
on the ride to school
The Lord watches over you--
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
getting ready to play with his buddies
The Lord will keep you from all harm--
He will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
~Psalm 121
Love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your strength.
Mom, can you walk me up to my class?
These commands that I give you today are
to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down
and when you get up.
My sweet 7 year old...so very brave!
Tie them as symbols on your hands
and bind them on your foreheads.
Write them on the doorframes
of your houses
and on your gates.
~ Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Lord,
These boys are Your boys
even more than they are mine.
Grow them in their faith
as they put to practice
everything we have taught them.
Help them to know Your presence
with them each day.
Make them a light to those at school
who do not know You.
Through their words and actions,
may they be but arrows
to point people around them
straight to You.
