an adventure in November

Cherry Coffeecake--our day after Thanksgiving Breakfast :)

 Every Thanksgiving,
my three guys like to shoot trap.
I have been a "nervous Nellie" mom...
I will admit.
Having my 10 year old and 7 year old around guns
just makes me a bit on-edge...
this year, I had the opportunity
to go with them and document
their time.

They are so fun to watch
and I feel so much better about them
going having seen
exactly what they do :)

Joshua loading his bb gun

aiming at the target

sheer concentration

Austin aiming

Joshua trying out Daddy's gun
Scott

See his shell flying!

showing Joshua how to operate the launcher

Austin picking up shells
These are TREASURES!

Austin found over 40 shells.  He is going to make something out of them!

getting instructions

"Close this eye and look with that eye..."

trying to figure out how to open one eye and close the other

These boys of mine
are soon becoming
men.
Watching them grow
in height
and maturity
is such an incredible gift from
my Heavenly Father!
A gift
not to be taken
lightly...
but to be met
with sincerity
and purposefulness...
while filled with
ecstatic joy and laughter...
each day a
step
in following
God in daily living
and fun adventures.

Lord,
Thank You
for these boys...
please give Scott and me
wisdom as we seek
to follow You
in raising them.
